This large primary school in Harlesden has 430 pupils on roll. Pupils attainment on entry is well below the national average. Pupils generally come from deprived backgrounds, many living in local temporary housing in overcrowded households. The school was in special measures a few year?s ago and now has the second or third biggest debt of any primary school in the country. Approx 75% of pupils have English as an additional language, about 45% are entitled to free school meals and 40% are on the special needs register.
Project: A team of creative volunteers is required to paint murals of Disney characters in the nursery classrooms. Some have been completed already by previous volunteers but there are still more to do. The nursery staff and children would really appreciate this. Another task is to paint the school admin office, paint walls and put up shelving.
