Jack Taylor Special School - (Gardening)

Volunteers: 11 - 11

Camden
NW8 0SR

Jack Taylor School provides for pupils who have statements of special educational needs for their various learning difficulties. These include, severe or profound and multiple learning difficulties and/or complex learning difficulties, including those pupils with autistic spectrum disorders (ASD) and more complex medical needs. Pupils come from a diverse range of socio-economic backgrounds and currently over two thirds are eligible for free school meals. Over three quarters of the pupils are from minority ethnic groups. Some children come from refugee families and some are looked after by the local authority.

Project: A team of volunteers is needed to fence off an area of the playground with a small picket style fence to create a quiet area and possibly supply a bench and fix mobiles. Other general gardening tasks such as weeding, pruning and planting are needed to spruce up the area to make it more inviting. The school would love to welcome volunteers again this year as it makes a huge difference to the staff and pupils.

Project costs: Budget required to cover cost of materials
