This adventure playground near Loughborough Junction station has been really run down in the past. The new playleader has been in post for about a year and has built up the number of kids using the playground from seven to nearly forty. It's a place for the kids (mostly aged 8-13) to come and play in a safe environment with adult interaction and supervision. As it has been so run down volunteers are made really welcome to help with improvements.
Project: Two teams of volunteers are needed here. One team is needed to paint the front of the building. Tasks include: a quick rub down of the wooden pillars and other areas, paint in bright colours. Also to paint the name of the playground and phone number above the front doors. Another team is needed for some gardening in the play area, cutting grass, weeding and planting planters, shovelling bark chippings under the play structures, fixing bird tables/feeders, hedgehog boxes, creating log piles etc.
