Somerford Grove is an open access adventure playground for children aged 5-15 situated in a deprived area of Tottenham. There is also a playgroup that caters for children aged 2-5. All children live in the local vicinity. The playground is almost totally funded by the Lottery. The Centre is used by other community groups such as Scouts, a bike maintenance project and other community events.
Project: Team of volunteers is required to work outside on a gardening project. Tasks include:
Weeding around tree in front garden and plant shrubs; create new raised bed using railway sleepers and put trellis against existing fence; fill new bed with compost; paint outside wall with masonry paint; put up bird boxes etc if time
Project costs: Budget required to cover cost of materials
